WWII and Viking King

Today I went to an area in Norway that
happened to be occupied by the Germans
during WWII.
German bunker

There is also an obstacle course in the area.

Bath house

This is an outdoor picnic/barbecue that groups
can use for big events.

A diagram of a German watchtower.

Sleeping headquarters for the soldiers.

Inside the watchtower

Watchtower from the outside.  For invaders coming
from the sea, this appears as a rock only.  It's difficult
to see the openings.  The Germans had a 360 degree
vantage point from this tower.

View from the watchtower.

No idea

Another bunker

Wild flowers that only grow near the sea.

I should NOT have worn flip-flops.

Bridge that's part of the obstacle course.

Name of a view point.

Picture from the car on the way back.

The monument above is a memorial for a
legendary Viking King.  This King is known
for uniting Norway during the Viking era.
During this time there were many Viking
Kings and he conquered them all and made
Norway one nation.  The smaller pillars
represent the other Viking Kings/Villages.

A cross above a Viking King grave.  It
got split in two pieces so it now must be
stabilized with iron shafts.
