Copper Mine

Believe it or not, the copper used to create the Statue of Liberty came from the island of Karmøy.  This is the island Kristine's family lives on.  There is a small tourist area near the copper mine where the copper was taken from many years ago...

A childrens slide I couldn't resist near
the copper mine.

Copper mine factory from many years ago.

Rocky area behind the factory building.

Another view of the factory.

They created a mini statue of Liberty
with the copper from the mine.

Serious photo

Wall of the entrance to the mine.

Memorial for those who lost their lives working
in the mine.

Old machine used in the mine.

Entrance to the mine.

Water hole inside.

Hallway in the mine.

Random cave thing with no relation to the mine.

Inside the cave thing that has no relation
to the mine.

A little bit windy!
