Norway is surrounded by many islands west of the mainland. Today, Kristine, along with much of her family and I took a short trip to one of the islands. We took a car ferry to a large island and then a smaller ferry for passengers only to the next and final island.

people farm lobsters and sell them. I believe they
have a display/museum or something too. We
had a picnic right here outside the tent.

Kristine and her cousin who insisted on climbing
to the top of this large rock and immediately regretted
it once he finally got up there.

took about 15 minutes one way so much easier
than past hikes.

So believe it or not this blank area is believed to
have had a UFO land here. Back around 1975,
local claim dogs started barking out of control
while at the same time local finsherman sighted
what appeared to be an unidentified flying object
(UFO). After that, there was a giant ring that
appeared in this area. The ring was 5-9 cm
deep and approximately 40 cm in width. Scientists
from the city of Bergen visited this area said it's
the largest UFO ring in the world and still cannot
come up with a reasonable explanation as to why
ring is there. Also, locals have tried planting
just about anything, flowers, trees, and/or vegetables.
The only thing that can grow here is grass and nobody
knows why. It's difficult to see the ring in the photos
I took but I promise it's there.

of getting a successful picture was to climb up and
get a good vantage point. Even with a good vantage
point, nobody really got a good photo.

There were a few small island near the island we
visited. Instead of building bridges for the few
people using the islands, locals created this cable
ferry to get from one island to the next. The
ferry can only hold so much weight/people so
we split the group in two to cross to another
island.
