Road Trip to the South (final blog post)

For the last remaining days in Norway, Kristine and I decided to take a road trip along the Norwegian south coast.  While on this road trip we visited her high school, a Christian camp similar to Camp Luther, my friends from Augustana Sondre and Anette, and Kristine's best friend from high school, Kine.

Kristine getting ready to drive on the road
trip.  We almost made it out of the drive
way before I had to drive....

Looks like I'm driving...

Kristine's aunt's camper at a Christian camp
along the south coast.

Kristine's cousin Edel-Merete at the camp.

Below the lighthouse.  This is also
Norway's most southern point.

Norway's most southern point.

During WWII this area was occupied by many
German soldiers.

A place where German soldiers placed their cannons.

This is me attempting to prevent Kristine from
getting blown away.

Some old building, that's all I really know.

Trenches used during the war.

My friend Sondre.  Sondre and his wife Anette
attended Augustana my freshman year.  They're
both originally from Norway so it was
wonderful being able to see them again.

Sondre's wife Anette wasn't in any pictures,
but Kristine and I took a chance with
visiting them.  Anette is/was 9 months
pregnant during this time. Her due date
was June 29th.  We took a chance with
meeting up with them considering Anette
could go into labor anytime...

The city of Erevik.  Near Porsgrunn, the town
Sondre and Anette live in.

An old church in Erevik.

An old old wooden ship...haha

I have no idea...sorry.

Kristiansand.

A small train that gives tours in
downtown Kristiansand.

A small area where people hangout and
eat in down town Kristiansand.

A far out view of the Kristiansand Opera
House.

and makes shows or commercials for
Norwegian TV.

In a blog post awhile back, I thought I
had seen the Worlds best McDonalds.
While in Kristiansand I found an even
fancier McDonalds.

Our last day of the trip Kristine and I
visited Kristine's best friend from High
School, Kine.  Kine and her mother
took us for a boat ride around the town
of Arendal.

We saw many nice homes along the canal
in Arendal.

Nice views on the ride back to the west
coast.

Kristine's parent's home.  The home
I stayed at during the majority of my
time here in Norway.
